A bit more about me
Hello! My name is tensake, I'm a Software Developer from Ukraine.
I have been programming since around March 2024 and I am liking it so far, I wouldn't say I'm some crazy senior but also don't think I'm bad either. I can sit in the morning to 'just code for an hour' and the next thing I notice is that it is already time for dinner.
How I started programming
As maybe the most of the people, I was very excited about developing games. In around early 2023, I started with watching YouTube tutorials on how to create games in Unity. But after a few projects I switched to Construct 2, maybe because C# was a bit too hard for me at that time, and... I gave up on it. After 3-4 games I gradually lost interest in game development.
After a year or so, I remembered that software development exists, and so I started again but this time with Python. My first app that I made was Sortynator, a simple script to sort files, but it took me so long to make it, maybe a bit less than two weeks. I still keep it on my GitHub as a reminder of where I started, and maybe I will redo it in the future.
I mainly learned through YouTube videos, stack overflow and chat gpt (it wasnt so good as today at that time, but was useful for explaining some concepts). And that's how I started, I didn't do it every day, had some breaks, but I never gave up on it.
By September 2025 (when I got into college), I started programming more. The main reason was that I realised my apps were not really good and I wanted other people to use my projects, so I decided to use GitHub more.
To be fair, I used it more like a tracker of how much I code to keep the streak going and I got so obsessed with it that I even dream of that GitHub graph sometimes. At that time I learned a bit more about web development and advanced python. Projects I made were convert-videos, auto-dailies which I use every day, and my website 10ku.
Right now, I am trying to improve anything I can about my software, from performace and UI design to how the code looks. I also started using Rust to get more performance and less crashes, and I actually like when the language tells me how to write the code, instead of me making my own rules. And I also started focusing more on web design so that my web applications look nicer.
My hobbies
I like gaming a lot, when I first got my PC I played games a lot with my friends, and I still play sometimes. My favourites are osu! and hoyoverse games. I'm trying to get to the top 50,000 in the world in osu! (not sure about that though).
I also listen to music a lot, I don't really have a favourite genre of music, but if I would pick my favourite then that would almost certainly be VOCALOID, you can also visit my profile on Spotify.
Another of my hobbies is learning foreign languages, I am fluent in English, Ukrainian and Russian, and currently learning Japanese (I'm around the N4-N3 JLPT level). But, I do not plan to stop learning languages after I learn Japanese, I want to learn as much as I can, and what I like about it is that it doesnt take up much of my time, as I learn for around an hour a day.
And of course, how can I live without watching anime, I wouldn't say that I watch it a lot, maybe one title every month, sometimes more sometimes less.
